Iranian-American wedding at The Foundry in Lake Oswego
Fardin & Alia are university sweethearts. It all started when the two met at an international students event. Fardin was impressed with Alia’s Persian skills because she could say the word ‘camel’ and that she could tell him he looked handsome. So they decided to commit themselves one chilly evening in February.
Fardin, a charming Iranian gentleman and his lovely bride, Alia were married in a traditional Iranian ceremony. The Sofre-Aghd which is custom of Persian weddings was set up by the groom's mother. Many other elements such as the honey dipping, the sugar cubes over the canopy, and the knife dance were exciting to watch. I can't say how much I love witnessing the union of two different cultures from different parts of the world coming together in such a beautiful way.
